How we work this out
It’s the standard capacity table the state extension services publish — tank size against how many people use it, adjusted down if you run a garbage disposal, because a disposal puts noticeably more solids into the tank.
It’s an estimate, and we’ll say so. Two houses with identical tanks can be years apart depending on what goes down the drain. If the number says you’re close, the honest answer is to have it looked at — not to assume the calculator is right.
